Across The Card Treble Starts Week Off Well
As Mondays go this was a pretty good one. Five runners left the yard that morning and three returned from the races victorious.
Phoenix Of Dreams gained just rewards for his consistency to win a maiden race at Redcar at odds of 1/10. The race was a penalty kick for him on paper and so it proved in the contest itself. It was very pleasing though to train a winner for the Coral Racing Club who have been so patient with ‘Phoenix’ in the early part of his career.
Ann Terry was in action at Leicester and she too broke her maiden tag in a six furlong fillies novice event for herself and owners Raceshare 100. She had run well to finish second at Pontefract prior to this and bettered that effort on the figures to win by five and a half lengths at the line. Given the ground was heavy and there were only three runners it is hard to know what Ann Terry beat but in winning this Great British Bonus race she scooped a £20,000 bonus for her owners which made it a great pay day!
Our third winner of the day was The Trickster who took his career tally to two from two in the Double Trigger novice race back at Redcar. Having shown a good attitude to win on debut at Beverley this was again evident here as he battled ferociously up the straight to win by half a length at the line. The Trickster was the only penalised runner in the field which only adds to the merit of this win. He will now enjoy a winter break and we feel he can make up in to a nice middle distance horse next year.
