Redcar Double…Again!

Redcar has been a happy hunting ground for us in the past fortnight and Tuesday’s double was particularly enjoyable as two young horses that have made good progress all year got their heads in front.

First up came Magellan Cloud who had shown ability in novice races at Ayr and York prior to this but produced a career best in this seven furlong novice race. Whilst he hit a flat spot a little way from home it was notable how well he responded to Jason Hart’s urgings to get on tip nicely inside the last furlong and win by a length and a half at the line. He will now enjoy a winter break and we hope that he will continue this progress in to his three year old campaign.

Liberty Coach then landed the feature race on the card, a mile and a quarter handicap. This was his third win of the 2024 campaign and his progress has been very satisfying. Whilst it took a little while for the penny to drop earlier in his career he is a horse who is firmly in the groove now. Bigger handicaps may well be on the agenda for him in 2025.
