JM Jungle Roars Up the Knavesmire
JM Jungle got York’s Ebor meeting off to a flyer for the yard when landing the opening race, the Symphony Group Handicap (Heritage Handicap) under Jason Hart. Having run such a good race when third from a poor draw in the contest last year it was great to see him enjoy the rub of the green this time around.
The early pace was furious but JM Jungle was able to lie up and sit just behind the leader. It always looked as if he would play a hand in the finish given how well he travelled. When asked to go and win his race by Jason JM Jungle responded tenaciously, hit the front inside the last furlong and won by three quarters of a length at the line.
This was a deserved win for JM Jungle who had run with great credit in big sprints over the past 12 months without enjoying much luck. Lady luck was on his side this time though and there is no better place to enjoy a winner than at York during the Ebor Meeting. It simply is one of the world’s great festivals. Well done to his owners MPS Racing and The Ayrshire Tradesmen.
