Imperial Merlin back to winning ways at Haydock

It was lovely to get a Winner over hurdles at Haydock last week with Imperial Merlin. He underwent wind surgery at the start of the year after a few below par runs at the back end of last year and it seems to have worked well, allowing him to really finish his race with confidence. He also seemed to enjoy the return to hurdles, jumping well throughout for Craig Nichol and it was great to see him asserting towards the finish and to win going away.

He won a nice race at The Scottish National meeting at Ayr in 2023, and we may head back there for his next start in a few weeks.
