Empirestateofmind Gives Us Something to Sing About on Knavesmire

Empirestateofmind toughed it to win the mile handicap on the York’s Friday card at their final meeting of the season. In doing so he was registering his first won during what has been a light campaign so far.

He quickly bounced back from a tame effort in the Cambridgeshire last time and proved that run to be all wrong here. This win was extra pleasing as prior to it ‘Empire’ had run several good races in defeat at York. To get his head in front at our local track for his Yorkshire based owner Ross Harmon was even more special.

Our York season on the whole has been really pleasing. This was our fourth winner of the year at one of the world’s best racecourses. It is hard to win their as everybody likes to bring their best horses to the venue. Undoubtedly our highlight at the track this year would be that Ebor Meeting double courtesy of JM Jungle and Breege.
