Breege Gets Her Big Day!
Breege has so often played the part of bridesmaid at premier meetings and therefore it was hugely satisfying to see her win the Group 3 Princess Elizabeth Stakes at Epsom on Derby Day. In what was a tactical affair Breege was always well placed under Jason Hart and was out of harms way when things got messy in typical Epsom fashion up the home straight. She showed plenty of determination to win by a neck at the line. It was a great day for the yard with two other runners Mr Wagyu and Due For Luck finishing second and third in their races too.
This was Breege’s first win since her debut as a two year old but she has shown plenty of high class form in defeat subsequently. This win was all the sweeter as her owners Andrew and Jane Black’s Chasemore Farm operation is based only thirteen miles from the track. They bred Breege and hopefully will have the most wonderful mare to breed from at the end of her racing days. For now though there are more big days to be had on the racecourse we hope!
